However, juicing is not as simple as squashing the juice out of some celery and apples.<\/p>\n<p>Take a look at the juicing tips from the experts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.\u00a0Buy the right juicer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, you can buy the cheapo juicer. But then you shouldn\u2019t expect it to do a good job at your juicing. Some features to look for are that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It\u2019s easy to use, but has multiple speeds (you will use a lower speed for your softer fruit\/veg).<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0It\u2019s easy to clean (ideally, you can throw the parts into the dishwasher).<\/li>\n<li>It yields a lot of juice, and the pulp that\u2019s left over is very dry.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0The feeder tube (where you put the fruit\/veg in) is large enough to accommodate large chunks \u2013 otherwise, you\u2019ll spend hours every day chopping your fruit\/veg into teensy bits and pieces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you\u2019re just starting out at juicing, try a . Once you\u2019re committed to juicing and have the bucks to buy a very fancy appliance, then you can splash out on a twin-gear juicer.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and make sure you always clean your juicer correctly, otherwise, it\u2019ll become a trap for bacteria.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.\u00a0Avoid too many fruit servings per juice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fruit is high in <a href=\"https:\/\/trifocusfitnessacademy.co.za\/blog\/blog-articles\/how-to-quit-sugar\/\">sugars <\/a>(fructose). And while you only eat say, one orange, per sitting, when you\u2019re making a glass orange juice, you need three or four oranges. You can see how juice can quickly become a calorie bomb!<\/p>\n<p>Experts recommend you juice vegetables (especially green veg) with say, one piece of sweet fruit to ensure you\u2019re not consuming too much sugar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.\u00a0 Don\u2019t throw out all the pulp<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Keep some of the pulp from the juicing process.\u00a0Mix it back into your juice, or use it in your breakfast food. This insoluble fibre is an important regulator of your blood sugar levels, and is also good for your digestive system.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3277\" src=\"https:\/\/trifocusfitnessacademy.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/shutterstock_154313786-1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Visualise what you want to achieve and you'll get there\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>4.\u00a0Drink it soon!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The vitamins, nutrients and enzymes in your juice won\u2019t survive for long. Drink your juice within 15 minutes of making it. And if you do need to store some juice, make sure it\u2019s in an airtight container, in the fridge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5.\u00a0Drink your juice on an empty tummy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is especially true if you drink green juice. Drink your juice at least an hour after any meal (or first thing in the morning), and then wait 20-30 minutes before consuming anything else. Otherwise, you may feel a little queasy. Plus, you won\u2019t get the full benefit of all those raw nutrients hitting your digestive system.<\/p>\n<p>Also, try to \u201cchew\u201d your juice, letting it swirl around in your mouth. This stimulates the production of saliva \u2013 a digestive enzyme that helps your body break down food and absorb nutrients. And that\u2019s the goal \u2013 to absorb nutrients.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6.\u00a0Don\u2019t treat your juice like a complete meal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are a lot of \u201cliquid diets\u201d out there, promising you fast weight-loss and fabulous good health. But the reality is that fruit and veg juice, alone, won\u2019t sustain you. It simply isn\u2019t good for you, unless you\u2019re doing a very short cleansing fast (max, three days).\u00a0 Remember, you need lean proteins and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trifocusfitnessacademy.in\/blog\/blog-articles\/secret-fish-oils\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fats <\/a>to be healthy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7.\u00a0Variety is critical<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t stick to the same juice recipe day after day. Make a difference juice every day, and make it your goal to get through as many of the difference veg and fruit as possible. Not only is the variety good for you, but you also avoid over-loading your body with certain chemicals that are present in some fruit and veg. For example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you consume too many carrots and tomatoes \u2013 which are high in carotene \u2013 will make your skin turn a shade of \u2018fake tan orange\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Likewise, some green veg are high in oxalate \u2013 a compound that affects the thyroid gland negatively if you consume too much of it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the pursuit of good nutrition is your passion, why not turn it into your career?
